Melissa Castrillon is an award winning illustrator, author and picture book maker. She studied at the Cambridge school of art for a degree in illustation and then a Masters degree in Children's book illustration. Since graduating in 2014 she has illustrated more 15 picture books, written three and her books have been translated into more than 20 languages around the world.
In 2019 she was awarded the Gold medal by the Society of illustrators in New York for her wordless book ‘The Balcony’. That same year she was asked to re-imagine the covers for Philip Pullman’s HIS DARK MATERIALS series. You can see all of these and more over at her website HERE
Melissa is inspired by bright punchy colour combos, inventive compositions, ingenious page design and unusual patterns and bizarre botanicals all of which can seen in the prints and products available from her shop.
